This is an easy tutorial as I have done the animation on the kitty. It does however require some working knowledge of PSP.

Ok lets get started.

Open the kitty graphic and the notes in PSP. Set the notes aside for now and click on the kitty to make it active. Go to layers/new raster layer and name this one text. Choose a rainbow or other nice gradient (see below) for your background color and make your foreground color null. Click your text tool, then click on your kitty canvas. Type out your text using the settings below…The size of the font will depend on the length of your nic.

Gradient
Text Settings

Keep selected. Move the text under the kitty so it looks like the kitty is sitting on it. Go to Effects/3D/inner bevel and use the settings below.

Inner Bevel

Go to Effects/3D/Drop Shadow and use the settings below.

Drop Shadow

OK now go to your layer palette and drag this layer to the bottom of the stack, then duplicate it 3 times for a total of 4 text layers.

Then click on the kitty1 layer, duplicate it and drag it to the top of the stack.

Now click on the kitty2 layer and drag it to the top. Your layer palette should look like this…

Layer Palette

Now hide (by clicking the little glasses one each layer) all but the bottom layer of the kitty and all but the bottom layer of the text. Click the text layer to highlight it and go to Layer/merge/merge visible. Rename this layer Frame 1 and hide it.

Repeat above but on the next layers up of each kitty and text layers. Do this till you have Frame 1 through Frame 4.

Now to add some music :o)

Open your music notes. Click on one to activate it then go to Edit/copy. Click on the kitty canvas and make Frame 1 active Go to Edit/paste as new selection and position it where you would like. Click on the next note and repeat the last step. Continue doing this till all notes are on Frame 1. You might like to add more then 3 notes if you have a longer nic.

Now make Frame 2 the active frame and repeat copying and pasting the notes in different spots. Do this to all frames.

Once you're done, Save as a PSP image and open it in Animation Shop.

Go to Edit/select all. Then Animation/frame properties and change the 10 to 25. Crop it and save. That’s it, you’re done! Click View/animation and watch him groove!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any questions, email me!
